Technical Roadmaps

1. Install and Configure the Plugin
  • Download & Install: Obtain the Splitit plugin for your eCommerce platform (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Wix or Salesforce Cloud).
  • Setup: Follow the provided installation guide to configure Splitit within your store's payment settings.
2. Choose Your Checkout Setup
  • Customize plugin settings:
    • Review the available customization options.
    • Adjust the number of payments and set Splitit as the primary payment option by reordering the list.
  • Enable On-Site Messaging:
    • Activate on-site messaging directly from the plugin's interface to promote flexible installment payments.
3. Add and Customize Splitit On-Site Messaging
  • Purpose: Utilize on-site messaging to highlight the benefits of flexible installment payment options and drive customer engagement.
  • Guidelines: Follow Splitit's on-site messaging best practices as detailed in the documentation. Keep in mind that all of our plugins and extensions allow you to enable the messaging directly from the app. Review Shopper Messaging for best results.
  • Customization tips:
    • Tailor Messaging: Emphasize the advantages of installment payments for your customers.
    • Design and Placement: Adjust the visual style, placement, and timing to ensure the messaging integrates seamlessly with your website’s layout without disrupting the user experience.
  • Testing: Validate the messaging across different devices and scenarios to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
4. Testing and Validation
  • Test Mode:
    • Enable test mode in the plugin to simulate transactions prior to going live.

  • Workflow Validation:
    • Place test orders to verify that the installment plan workflow functions as expected.
  • Messaging Verification:
    • Confirm that Splitit messaging displays correctly on product, collection, cart and checkout pages.

5. Go Live and Monitor Performance
  • Activate Live Mode:
    • Disable test mode and switch to live mode once testing is complete.
  • Monitor Performance:
    • Use Splitit’s Merchant Hub to access transaction insights and reporting.
