Setup
As mentioned in the overview, On-Site Messaging functionality consists of two parts:
  1. 1.
    HTML elements with Splitit content, namely Placement Elements and Placeholder Elements. Placement Elements, which often appear on product pages, display full Splitit installment plan calculations above a product price or elsewhere, while Placeholder Elements are static graphics designed to be quickly integrated into your site, and consist of banners, logos and credit card images.
  2. 2.
    JavaScript code that initializes the On-Site Messaging plugin using a set of parameters; it requires your Payment Terminal API Key.

JavaScript Initialization Code

Place the following JavaScript code *after* your last HTML element with Splitit content, setting your desired init parameters (the table below describes them). Once you have done that, you can proceed to the sections on Placeholder Elements and Placement Elements.
<script>
(function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['SplititObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
})(window, document, 'script', '//upstream.production.splitit.com/v1/dist/upstream-messaging.js?v=1', 'splitit');
splitit('init', { apiKey: 'xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx', lang: 'en', currency: 'USD', currencySymbol: '#x27;, debug: false });
</script>
